Building Safe, Inclusive, and Welcoming Student Environments

Residence Life

Rutgers University–New Brunswick is opening all residence halls for the 2021-2022 academic year. Students who wish to live in on-campus housing must apply by their priority deadline. We are excited to return to a much more normal campus and welcome more students back to the banks for 2021-2022.

New First-Year Students should apply by June 7.
New Transfers students should apply by June 30.

Of course, our return-to-campus plans may need to change based on factors like the progress of the pandemic and guidance from governmental authorities. For details, deadlines, and FAQs visit: go.rutgers.edu/housingupdate.

Residence Life serves the needs of over 15,500 residents who experience, study, and live in around 140 buildings on four campuses in New Brunswick and Piscataway. To support one of the country’s largest student housing operations, Residence Life builds community, supports diversity, provides leadership opportunities, responds to individual and community issues, and enables academic success for all our residents. In a typical year, Residence Life employs over seventy professional staff and nearly 300 student staff, with approximately 350 staff members living in the residence halls.
